This all-new TKGA event is intimate, with lots of personal pampering and lots of coveted time with top knitting instructors! It is the perfect place to relax, learn AND knit! TKGA Grand Retreat is only for TKGA members and is limited to 60 registrations.
CLASSES Registrants may choose one of these three very special classes:
- Fair Isle Cardigans with Beth Brown-Reinsel
- Complete Finishing Course with Arenda Holladay
- An Overview of Orenburg-Style Knitted Lace with Galina Khmeleva
Each class of 20 will fill two whole days with unsurpassed instruction in knitting excellence (each class is intermediate to advanced).
REGISTRATION Registration will open January 17 at 10 am ET at www.TKGA.com/grandretreat. You must be a TKGA member to register and attend retreat classes. (A spouse/friend/significant other is welcome to join you for the planned meals -- details are available when you register.)
Registration includes Welcome Tea on Tuesday (3:30-5 pm), all group meals beginning with dinner on Tuesday evening through lunch on Thursday afternoon, a reception on Wednesday evening, daily coffee/tea breaks during classes, your class and your hotel room (inclusive of baggage handling fee, taxes, tips).
- Double occupancy with class: $1020 (double occupancy without class: $620 for a spouse or friend who may accompany you)
- Single occupancy with class: $1310
- Extended stay available: room with breakfast and dinner included:double occupancy $265 per person per night; single occupancy $410
Tennis court time and golf greens fees are complimentary during our retreat (note that cart rental is required and is extra). Class attendees won’t have much time to partake in the golf and tennis, but if you bring along someone who isn’t taking classes, he/she may be interested.
GRAND HOTEL AWAITS! You'll take a ferry to the island, where no motorized vehicles are permitted (there is one ambulance and golf carts are allowed only on the course). Horses, bikes and shoe leather are the only transport options. The impeccable Grand Hotel staff and a bank of inviting rocking chairs on the panoramic veranda are poised to serve you and make your knitting moments priceless!
